Apple is working on versions of its iPad mini, iPad Air, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air with OLED displays, reports Bloomberg. The Cupertino firm currently uses the technology in its iPad Pro lineup.
The report says the iPad mini will be the recipient of an OLED display as soon as 2026, while also possibly gaining improved water resistance.
While Apple’s iPad Air is also planned to gain OLED displays, it won’t happen in 2026, as the upcoming model expected to debut in spring 2026 will continue to boast an LCD display. The iPad Air’s move to OLED likely will not occur until 2027 at the earliest.
Apple currently has no plans to offer a base model iPad with an OLED display.
As for the MacBook Pro, it will receive an OLED display when the laptop is next updated, which could be as soon as 2026. Following the MacBook Pro’s move to OLED displays, Apple will being OLED technology to the MacBook Air, although the launch of such an Air isn’t expected until 2028 at the earliest.
