The design of Apple’s new HomePod mini will remain unchanged from the original model and come will be available in five colors, MacRumors has reported.
The information is included in Apple’s own code, and shows clear product images of the new models in all of their colors. The new HomePod mini will come in green, pink, blue, white, and black. The current model comes in yellow, orange, blue, white, and midnight. The new blue looks to be a slightly lighter shade than the current offering.
Their presence in Apple’s code indicates that the updated smartspeaker is likely to launch soon.
Earlier this year, we reported that a new model of the HomePod mini seemed to be on the way, due to the unavailability of the current model.
In July, we reported that Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman said that Apple has a new model of the HomePod mini “nearly ready to launch,” and a fall release is planned. Gurman said thr device will be equipped with faster processors that support Siri AI.
Gurman said the updated HomePod mini is expected to use an Apple Watch S9 chip or newer, but it may use an improved version of that chip that would offer full support for the new Apple Intelligence-powered Siri. Other features have been rumored for the new smart speaker, including the N1 chip, improved sound quality, and a newer Ultra Wideband chip.
