iPhone Duo pre-orders kicked off today in the U.S. and several other countries at 5 a.m. Pacific Time. Unfortunately, if you haven’t already placed a pre-order on Apple’s online store, you’re going to be waiting more than three months to get delivery of your new precious. If you’re pre-ordering from your carrier, history tells us you may be in for an even longer wait.
If you were one of the first customers to pre-order a Duo right when pre-orders began at 5 a.m. Pacific Time today, (because you all pre-prepared for your pre-order, right?) You’ll have your new favorite thing delivered on Friday, October 23. However, at the time of this writing (5:30 a.m. Pacific Time) several configurations on Apple’s online store in the U.S. are now showing delivery estimates stretching into late December for new orders.
The waiting times are as follows:
(Am I repeating myself? It seems like I’m repeating myself…) It doesn’t matter which carrier you select, all of the wait times are the same. So you are going to be waiting a bit longer than three months to get your iPhone Duo. By the time you read this, the wait will likely be even longer. (The wait time became a month longer while I was writing this article.) While you may be able to score one next Friday when they are available in-store, I wouldn’t bet on that either. Good luck!
