New Firmware Now Available for AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4

Apple on Tuesday released new firmware for the AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4 wireless earbuds. The firmware has a build number of 8A358, up from 8A356.

Apple did not announce what is included in the updated firmware, although it could include bug fixes and improvements for some of the new features iOS 26 brought, which included support for better audio quality for phone calls and video calls, and studio-quality audio recording for interviews, podcasts, videos, and more.

AirPods can now be used as a camera remote with the Camera app to take photos or start a video recording, and they can now pause audio if you fall asleep while listening. A “Keep Audio in Headphones” feature ensures that your music won’t switch to your car’s stereo system when you get in your vehicle. Charging reminders are also available for when your AirPods battery is low. Live Translation is supported on the ‌AirPods 4‌ with ANC and the AirPods Pro 2.

To update your AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods 4 firmware, make sure they are in the range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac and place your AirPods in the Charging Case, then connect the charging Case to power The case should be kept closed for at least 30 minutes for the firmware update to complete.
