Apple today released iOS 26.2.1, iPadOS 26.2.1, and watchOS 26.2.1, which are minor updates to the latest iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch operating systems, respectively. The new releases comes a month after Apple released iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, and watchOS 26.2.
The new software can be downloaded on compatible iPhones and iPads over-the-air by going to to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
watchOS 26.2.1 can be downloaded via the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to “General” -> “Software Update.” The Apple Watch needs to have at least a 50% battery charge, needs to be on a charger, and needs to be in the range of the iPhone.
The updates offer support for the second-generation AirTag that Apple unveiled today.
The watchOS 26.2.1 update enables Precision Finding for the new AirTag 2 on the Apple Watch Series 9 and later and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later. Prior to now, Precision Finding for the AirTag has been limited to the iPhone.
The updates also includes unspecified bug fixes, say Apple release notes.
Apple also released iOS 18.7.4, iOS 16.7.13, iOS 15.8.6, and iOS 12.5.8 for older iPhones unable to run iOS 26.
