MacBook Neo to Require Software Update Out of the Box

If you have a new MacBook Neo scheduled for delivery on Wednesday, March 11, or if you plan on visiting your local Apple Store to buy a Neo in person, there is a day-one software update waiting on you. Apple today released macOS Tahoe 26.3.2, which will be waiting for the new Mac when you boot it up for the first time.

Apple’s release notes for ‌macOS Tahoe‌ 26.3.2 say it includes bug fixes and security updates. The software will likely be a requirement during the ‌initial MacBook Neo‌ setup process.

If you’re a developer that wants to test their applications on the MacBook Neo, the latest version of the macOS Tahoe‌ 26.4 beta is compatible with the ‌MacBook Neo‌, as well as Apple’s new M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models.

Customers that pre-ordered a MacBook Neo will begin receiving them on the 11th, and Apple retail locations will also have the new MacBook in stock.
