Apple on Wednesday seeded the release candidates (RCs) of watchOS 26.4, tvOS 26.4 and visionOS 26.4 to developers and public beta testers. The new RCs come one week after the fourth beta seeds.
Release candidates are usually identical to the final version of the software that will be released to the public provided that no show stopping bugs be found.
The release candidates can be downloaded from the Settings app on each device. The visonOS 26.4 release candidate will be restricted to developers.
watchOS 26.4 adds a new Average Bedtime metric to the sleep features that sync to the health app.
tvOS 26.4 removes the iTunes Movies and iTunes TV Shows apps on the Apple TV. A Continuous Audio Connection option for HDMI output has also been added.
visionOS 26.4 includes support for foveated streaming for apps and games. Foveated streaming allows video to be streamed to the precise area where a user is looking, and peripheral areas are compressed.
As usual, Mactrast and Apple both warn users to not install any release candidates and betas on their daily driver Apple Watch, Apple TV, or Vision Pro. Instead, only install them on a device set aside for testing purposes.
