Discover Dropping Support For These Two Apple Pay Features in June

Discover is dropping support for both the Connected Accounts and rewards features in Apple Wallet in June, reports AppleInsider.

The Apple Wallet app gained a new Connected Accounts feature with iOS 17.1, allowing users of select UK and US banks to view the balance of their connected credit cards. While the capability is supported by multiple UK banks, the feature was primarily limited to Discover cardholders in the US.

That will soon change, however, as Discover has announced it will discontinue support for Connected Accounts and the Pay with Rewards feature on June 4.

This means Discover cardholders will no longer be able to use rewards points at checkout with Apple Pay, nor will they be able to view the account balance of a connected Discover card in the Apple Wallet app.

Discover has started notifying its cardholders of the upcoming change via email. “Please note that Discover will discontinue its integration with Connected Account and Pay with Rewards with Apple Pay features, effective June 4, 2026,” reads the email.

Discover cardholders will still be able to view their account balance, account details, transactions, and more via the Discover iOS app. They will also be able to continue to use a Discover card with Apple Pay, allowing them to complete online and in-store payments as usual.

While Discover is ending support for Pay with Rewards, Synchrony and issuers partnered with Fiserve will continue to support the feature.

The Connected Accounts feature will still be available to Apple Pay users in the UK.
