Apple on Monday released macOS Tahoe 26.5.1, a minor update to the ‌macOS Tahoe‌ operating system. ‌The update comes three weeks after the release of ‌macOS Tahoe‌ 26.5.

Mac users can download the macOS Tahoe update by using the Software Update section of the System Settings app.

Apple’s release notes for the update state that ‌macOS Tahoe‌ 26.5.1 addresses an unexpected shutdown issue affecting certain enterprise users on M5 Macs:

This update addresses an issue for enterprise users where Macs with an M5 chip could unexpectedly shut down when using certain content filtering network extensions.

macOS Tahoe 26 updates will soon be winding down, as Apple has shifted its focus to macOS 27, which will be previewed at WWDC 2026 next month.
