Apple has announced the date for its upcoming press event. The iPhone-centric event will be held on Wednesday, September 9 at the Cupertino, California Apple Park headquarters at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, select members of the media are invited to attend.

During the event, we expect to see Apple debut the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone, which is rumored to be called the iPhone Ultra. An iPhone 18 won’t make an appearance at this year’s event as Apple is moving to a staggered release for the iPhone lineup, and will hold off until spring 2027 to launch the more affordable iPhone models.
All three new iPhones will use Apple’s latest A20 Pro chip built on a 2nm process for speed and efficiency improvements. The iPhone 18 Pro models could get an upgraded variable aperture rear camera, but are otherwise expected to be similar to the iPhone 17 Pro models. Price increases are also widely-expected, due to ongoing memory shortages.
The foldable iPhone Ultra is expected to use Touch ID integrated into the side button instead of in-display Face ID. The iPhone Ultra is said have a 5.5-inch outer display and a roughly 7.8-inch inner display when opened, making for a wide book-style design.
The Ultra is scheduled to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at a launch event in early September. The device is rumored to start at $2,000 and climb past $2,500 for higher storage tiers.
The Apple Watch Series 12, which will include the return of a ceramic case option, is also expected to debut during the event, as well as two new AirPods 5 models, and the possibility of seeing a new Apple TV 4K, an updated HomePod mini, and even the long-rumored home hub..
Apple is also expected to announce launch dates for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and other upcoming updates.
