Apple is planning to unveil three new smart home products on Tuesday, October 13, says Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.
Gurman says Apple is planning to debut its much-anticipated smart home hub device, a new HomePod mini smart speaker, and a new Apple TV set-top box. The exteriors of the new HomePod mini and Apple TV are expected to remain unchanged, but will boast faster chips to provide support for Siri AI. The new HomePod mini will be available in new color options, including pink and green.
The smart home hub is designed to be placed in rooms throughout your home, and will be available in both tabletop and wall-mounted versions, as Apple is counting on many customers buying more than one hub.
All three products will work with Siri AI, which is likely the reason behind the delay in their launch. All three were originally planned for a 2024 launch.
Apple plans followups for the near future, with an updated larger HomePod in the works, as well as a privacy-focused home security camera and sensor. The device can detect which room a person is in and does not record video.
