Chinese Teen Offers To Sell Her Virginity For An iPhone 4

Following a report earlier this month about a boy who sold his kidney to buy an iPad 2, the Korean Herald reports that a Chinese teenage girl is offering to trade her virginity for an iPhone 4.

The teen reportedly wrote on Weibu (China’s version of a Twitter-like service) that it was her dream to own an iPhone 4, and that because her father wouldn’t let her have one, she was going to get one herself by trading her virginity to anyone who would buy one for her. She even accompanied her request with pictures.

Fortunately, the world appears to still have some sanity, as per post has received overwhelmingly negative responses. Some people think it may even be a gag, or the work of someone trying to damage the girl’s reputation.

I certainly hope these rumors are false – and doesn’t she realize that the iPhone 5 is almost here? In all seriousness, however, offering your virginity on the internet is a stupid, foolish mistake, especially for a teenager who likely cannot fully understand the future consequences of her action. Not only could she find herself in a dangerous situation physically, but a perilous psychological situation as well.

In conclusion… What kind of world are we living in?
