iPhone Listed Among Most Influential Cameras Of All Time

The folks at Adorama Camera have recently assembled a list of the most influential cameras of all time – and the iPhone made it to the list!

While it’s unsurprising that the iPhone is considered one of the most influential cameras of all time, it does reflect a fascinating paradigm shift in the imaging world. Following the shift from film to digital, it seems that the latest trend in cameras is portability, bringing to mind the common phrase “the best camera is the one you have with you.

Considering the increasing number of camera products available for the iPhone, such as the OWLE Bubo (review), a heavy-duty photo mount for the iPhone which allows you to mount lenses, microphones, and “cold shoe” accessories to your iPhone 4, as well as attach it to a tripod, it’s becoming clear that more and more people are regarding the iPhone as an important photography device.

Regardless of what the listing does or does not reflect, I’m pleased to see Adorama list the iPhone in what I consider to be its proper place among the legendary devices that have helped to shape the photography industry. Check out the full list over at Adorama’s website.
