Intel’s New Ivy Bridge Chips Enter Mass Production

During Intel’s earnings conference call this week, the company announced that their forthcoming Ivy Bridge platform has already entered mass production, with deliveries expecting to arrive to computer manufacturers by mid-November.

Despite the mid-quarter delivery date, it will take some time for manufacturers to add the new processors into consumer-ready products, reports MacRumors, and Intel’s partners are aiming for a Spring 2012 market debut.

It’s anticipated that Apple will use the new chips in new models of many of their popular computers, including the iMac, Mac Pro, MacBook Air & MacBook Pro throughout next year, with revised MacBook Pros expected in early 2012 (according to previous release patterns), possibly with a redesigned casing.
