iPads, Angry Birds Toy Headed To International Space Station

A new report from Space.com reveals that two iPads, as well as a red Angry Birds plush toy, will soon be on their way to the International Space Station aboard two Russian spacecrafts set to launch later this year.

The iPads will be the first to launch aboard an unmanned resupply vehicle on October 30th, while the Angry Birds plush will accompany three crew members on a shuttle set to launch next month.

According to NASA, the iPads will only be used for entertainment purposes, are are intended to be used with music players already on the station. The Angry Birds toy, on the other hand, will be used to signal the crew when they leave earth’s gravity and the toy begins to float.

The two iPads will be the first iPads ever aboard the International Space Station, and the plush toy may well be the very first Angry Bird to ever leave the planet.
