One of the largest energy companies in the world, Haliburton, is planning to ditch the BlackBerry and adopt the iPhone as their dominant smartphone for a variety of reasons, including security.

According to a leaked internal memo published by AppleInsider, Haliburton put a significant amount of research into the decision, investigating both iOS and Android, ultimately deciding that the iPhone was their best option. The move will be a complete transition away from BlackBerry, and is expected to take place over the next two years.

The iPhone and iPad are making quite a name for themselves in the enterprise, with Haliburton being one of the largest (if not the largest) corporations to date to embrace Apple’s iOS platform. Apple executives boast that over 90% of all Fortune 500 companies are now testing, if not adopting, iOS devices in their organizations.

If nothing else, this shows the vast strides that Apple has made in order to make their devices more appealing to enterprise customers.
