New iPad Already Accounts for Nearly 5% of U.S. iPad Traffic

According to the latest numbers from advertising network Chitika, Apple’s new iPad has already replaced 5% of the iPad market in its first few days. Chitika is currently tracking iPad traffic in 12-hour segments to track the new iPad’s rate of adoption, and has published a live-updating chart to provide the latest data.

Apple’s latest iPad has quickly proven to be very popular, quickly selling out of online pre-orders. Stock is still available, however, at many Apple Retail Stores and third-party retailers, suggesting that Apple may not have the types of supply issues that plagued previous launches, such as last year’s iPad 2 debut.

For more information how how Chitika gathers their data, head on over to the Chitika Insights page on the tracker.
