Steve Jobs Biopic Starring Ashton Kutcher to Hit Theaters on April 19th

Earlier this month, the independent Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher debuted at the Sundance Film Festival – and according the The Hollywood Reporter (mirroring a previous report), the film is set to hit theaters on April 19th, allowing the rest of us the opportunity to watch the film.

The Steve Jobs biopic jOBS, starring Ashton Kutcher, will open in theaters April 19, the 37th anniversary of the founding of the Apple Computer.

The biopic, directed by Joshua Michael Stern and written byMatthew Whitely, chronicles Jobs’ ascension from college dropout to one of the most revered entrepreneurs of the 20thcentury. Part of the film was shot in the historic garage where Jobs first set up shop at his family’s home in Palo Alto, Calif.

jOBS also stars Dermot MulroneyJosh GadLukas Haas,J.K. Simmons and Matthew Modine

Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad, who play the roles of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in the film, respectively, will also be attending Macworld next week in San Francisco, and will be discussing the film, and the experience of playing their respective roles.

The movie is a separate project from the official authorized Steve Jobs biopic, which will be produced by Sony Pictures, directed by The Social Network and West Wing writer Aaron Sorkin.
