Apple Now Accepting Red Cross Donations for Refugee Crisis

Apple is now allowing its iTunes customers to donate to the American Red Cross to support the refugee and migration crisis across the Mediterranean Sea and Europe. iTunes users can donate $5, $10, $25, $50, $100 and $200.

All proceeds from the donations go directly to the American Red Cross. Those wishing to donate can do so by visiting the iTunes Store.

AppleInsider notes:

Over 473,000 migrants have fled into Europe during 2015, including some 182,000 Syrians trying to escape their country’s protracted civil war. Many of them are trying to reach Germany but have taken extreme measures to make the journey and/or circumvent border restrictions, particularly in Hungary, where the government can be actively hostile to immigration.

Apple has offered a number of other Red Cross donation campaigns in the past for crises, including: the 2015 Nepal earthquake, the 2013 Philippines Typhoon, Hurricane Sandy on 2012, and more.
