iPad 3 To Be Launched Late This Year With 6x The Resolution Of iPad 2

The Economic Daily, according to a report from Reuters, claims that, in addition to the previously mentioned MacBook Air refresh in June, we’ll see an iPad 3 in Q4 of this year – with an astounding 6x the resolution of the current iPad 2.

While this seems doubtful (that’s a pretty extreme increase, and those displays would be riotously expensive, and unnecessary, as they’d go pretty far beyond “retina” level), it’s nonetheless interesting – although I wonder if this bit of craziness should cast doubts on the accuracy of their claims of the June MacBook Air refresh?

Only time will tell if and to what extent their rumors will be substantiated. Your thoughts? As always, sound off in the comments!
