iPhone 5 Shows Up In Korean Carrier Database

The iPhone 5 is almost upon us – it’s so close, in fact, that (according to this report) the next-gen iPhone is already showing up in cell carriers’ databases! Placeholders for the new device have already reportedly showed up Korea Telecom’s database in 16GB and 32GB capacities.

The image above shows the SKU’s of the new handset under the SKU AIP5 – Apple iPhone 5, obviously. We suspect, however, that these are simply placeholders in their database. The fact that there is a SKU for an “AIP5-00” is also interesting.

Further, now that Apple has established a tradition of releasing both black and white versions of their mobile products, the fact that there are only database entries for a single model of each capacity is also suspicious. Additionally, I’d be surprised if Apple didn’t launch a 64GB iPhone 5 this time around, which there is also no placeholder for.
