A Closer Look At iOS 5’s Upcoming Assistant Feature

Among the most anticipated expected features to be included in iOS 5 on next-gen iPhone models is Apple’s new Assistant feature, which uses voice recognition and artificial intelligence to act as your personal assistant and help you make appointments, control your iPhone, or retrieve information.

MacRumors worked with artist Jan-Michael Cart, who assembled an impressive concept video (as well as picture to the right) to show what Apple’s iOS 5 Assistant feature might look and function like in a real-world setting.

The Assistant feature still isn’t confirmed to be coming to the next-gen iPhone, but a number of credible reports from 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman have discussed the feature at length, including a recent report in which he provided a detailed overview of how the service will work. Check out the full concept video below:

    WindowsPhone.Copy(); iOS.Paste();
    // This transaction automatically implies a patent deal with Microsoft. Will Microsoft generate more revenue from iPhones than from Windows Phone in the following year? 🙂

    iHope that’s going to be in iOS 5

    1. iHope. Nice. IHope soo too, although it’s likely only going to be available on Apple’s upcoming next-gen headsets due to its memory usage.

    an iOS Headset might be cool…. but what features would it have that would make it SMART? Would it read the info back to you… I like having a handset so I can read the info and absorb it.
