Back To The iFuture: Steve Jobs Introduces The iPod Touch

Four years ago today marked a historic occasion within the Apple community, as Steve Jobs introduced the first iPod Touch to an excited world ready to receive it on September 5, 2007.

It’s a curious sight to behold, as the crowd gets so excited about things that we now take for granted, like WiFi support. Following the release of the original iPhone earlier that year, the iPod Touch was a very important device, bringing Apple’s multi-touch interface and iPhone-esque features to the masses, and ultimately helping pave the way for the future success of the iPhone.

Many people paid a whopping $299 for the original iPod Touch, which came in 8GB and 16GB variations, and could browse the web, check email, and view YouTube videos for the first time ever on an iPod. Check out the below video to watch Steve Jobs as he presents the future of the iPod.
