Epson Releases New Portable Projectors For iOS Devices

Epson has just introduced a new line of light-weight and portable projectors, called MegaPlex, specifically designed for Apple iOS devices.

The new projectors feature a built-in dock to hold and charge your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, and allows you to project movies, photos or presentations from your iOS device to a big projection screen. Both models in the series are capable of generating an image 12 times larger than a 40-inch screen, and both include built-in stereo sound with two 10-watt speakers.

The more expensive of the two models, the $800 Megaplex MG-850D, offers 720p HD output and a 2800 lumen bulb, as well as a built-in microphone. The $700 MegaPlex MG-50 is similar, only without HD resolution.

Both projectors can also be connected to other devices using HDMI, VGA and USB interfaces, though it’s pretty obvious that the projectors have been designed for iOS devices, and are even advertised as an “Apple-Device Dock Combo.” The new projectors are expected to hit shelves around the end of the month.
