Official: Apple Announces iPhone Media Event On October 4th

Apple has begun issuing media invitations for an iPhone-related event, reports The Loop, which will be held on October 4th (as prior rumors had suggested) at the Town Hall Auditorium at Apple’s Cupertino, California headquarters. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM pacific time.

The tagline on each invitation reads “Let’s talk iPhone.” and shows iOS icons for Calendar, Clock, Maps, and Phone. We’ll be bringing you news from the event as it becomes available to us.

Apple is widely expected to announce next-gen iPhone hardware, confirm whether they’ll release one device or two, and discuss the hardware and its official retail launch date. Apple is also expected to discuss iOS 5 and iCloud, as well as their release dates, and recent rumors have suggested that Facebook may officially launch their iPad app at the event.
