Apple Faces Daunting Search for New Retail Chief

It’s safe to say that Ron Johnson is a retail genius. So the task that Apple now faces in replacing him is incredibly difficult, and according to Bloomberg, Tim Cook might even look within the company to produce a replacement. However, other sources have reported that the search is being led by Egon Zender international, a specialized recruitment firm.

The next Apple retail boss will have the mission of expanding Apple’s brand in developing markets such as China, while also keeping up the high standard of all the current stores – they have the leading revenue per square foot.

“It’s a relatively small pool of talent”, said Brenda Malloy, who is managing director of another recruitment firm. However Steve Dowling, an Apple spokesman, claimed there was “lots of interest” in the job. A decision can be expected shortly, with the process gathering up and initial 60 applicants before narrowing down to a final shortlist of ten from which Apple’s new retail chief will be chosen.
