AT&T Ranks Dead Last (Again) In Consumer Reports Satisfaction Survey

The results of Consumer Reports’ 2011 mobile provider satisfaction survey are in, with AT&T once again ranking as the worst in consumer satisfaction, while Verizon took the top title with Sprint nipping at its heels.

Of the four major U.S. national cell-phone standard service providers, Verizon again scored the highest in this year’s Ratings, followed closely by Sprint. Survey respondents gave very good scores to Verizon for texting and data service satisfaction, as well for staff knowledge.

Consumer Reports surveyed 66,000 customers in total, and the magazine’s January issue will include full nationwide performance and satisfaction ratings, as well as local rankings for 22 major metropolitan areas.

So, who’s the happiest with their mobile service? As it turns out, it’s those who subscribe to pre-paid services, and subscribers of smaller regional mobile providers. I guess bigger isn’t always better. Go figure.

Sadly, AT&T also ranked dead last in last year’s survey, when they were still the exclusive carrier for the iPhone. I guess some things never change.
