British Prime Minister to Begin Using Personal iPad App to Keep Up with Government Business

The iPad is becoming an ever-present figure in all sorts of areas, including politics. According to The Telegraph, British Prime Minister David Cameron is having a personal iPad app developed by the Cabinet Office, providing real-time access to important political data.

The idea for the app was reportedly inspired by U.S. advisors, and will combine data from social networks and other sources to help the Prime Minister stay on top of the latest employment numbers, satisfaction ratings and more.

Many political bodies and leaders are turning to the iPad. U.S. President Barack Obama is known to keep one of Apple’s iconic tablets, a British MP used the iPad to deliver a speech in Parliament, and now the British Prime Minister is making use of one as well.

Despite having the custom iPad app developed, however, Cameron still insists that submissions are made through formal processes, and that paper copies of all documents and reports be delivered and stored as well.
