How To: Assign A Colored Label To A Folder Or File

Assigning a colour to a folder or file is a great way to organise your files or folders in levels of importance.

In order to achieve this all a user needs to do is select the file or folder they wish to add a label to and go to either File > Get Info in the menu bar or press Command + I on your keyboard.

In the get info window which will appear your attention should be taken to the following section titled ‘labels’ with a series of colours boxes next to it.

Simply select the colour you wish for that folder or file and it will then be highlighted in that colour in your finder window.
