iPad 3 Front Panel Reveals No Significant Design Changes

Many of the upcoming iPad 3’s guts have already been leaked across the web, but so far the device’s front panel hasn’t been one of them. Until now, that is. Apple.pro points to an image posted on China’s Sina Weibo social network (China’s equivalent to Twitter), supposedly showing the front glass and digitizer from the iPad 3.

Unsurprisingly, the part is very similar to its iPad 2 counterpart, with the only significant difference being a longer ribbon cable alongside the side of the display, compared to the short horizontal ribbon cable on the iPad 2. The remaining features, including the home button, camera sensor hole, and light sensor, all appear to be identical.

Coupled with the rear casing, Retina display, and other supposed leaks, it seems that nearly all of the iPad 3’s components have now been leaked to the masses. Apple is expected to officially announce the iPad 3 at a media event on March 7th.
