1.2 Million iOS 5.1.1 Devices Already Jailbroken Using Absinthe 2.0

Although the new iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak tool Absinthe 2.0 was only released last Friday, the Chronic Dev Team reports that it has already been used to jailbreak an impressive 1.2 million devices! That’s a whole lot of jailbreak action!

The following tweet was pushed out yesterday from the team’s official Twitter account (via iMore):

Considering that the tweet was sent yesterday, it’s likely that the actual number of jailbreaks is significantly higher now, suggesting that jailbreaking is becoming more and more mainstream. This is likely due in part to the rise of very simple new jailbreaking tools such as Absinthe.

For those who haven’t yet jailbroken their devices, the Absinthe 2.0 jailbreaking tool can be downloaded from the Chronic Dev Team – and don’t forget to check out our tutorial for instructions on how to jailbreak your device!
