iOS Tip: My App Store Icon Disappeared. How Do I Get It Back?

How to: How To Get Your Apple App Icon Back When It Disappears

If you notice that a particular Apple app icon has disappeared then you are able to get it back by simply changing your restrictions in your iOS Device. You or someone who uses your device may have inadvertently turned on a restriction.

Please note that this tip is only valid for Safari, YouTube, Camera, FaceTime, iTunes, Ping, Installing Apps, and Removing Apps.

Simply navigate to Settings > General > Restrictions. Upon entering your password you will be presented with the following view:

If this is the first time you have entered the restrictions area you will be prompted to set a four digit password.

To answer the question posed at the beginning of this article on how to get the App Store icon back. All you need to do is slide the Installing Apps option as seen in the image above to the “on” position.

Then when you go back to your home screen you will once again be shown the App Store Icon.

This is also handy to remember should you wish to remove any of these apps from view.
