Apple Backtracks, No Longer Lists Mac Pro as ‘New’

Yesterday’s Mac Pro “updates” got plenty of attention for being extremely lackluster. Apple’s Online Store listed Mac Pro models as new, although the units continued to use older Westmere processors, and did not include Thunderbolt, USB 3, or other significant updates.

Interestingly, Apple has now taken a step backwards, and now longer lists the Mac Pro as new in their online store, as illustrated below (via MacRumors). It’s unclear whether Apple made the change due to critical backlash, or of their own accord – but I think Mac Pro users everywhere can agree that it was the right thing to do.
