Court Rejects Apple Bid for Fast Track on Samsung Phone Sales Ban

Apple’s request for a fast-track on their bid to ban several Samsung phones was turned down on Monday. A U.S. court ruled that Apple must take the normal route for the appeals process.

AppleInsider:

As Reuters detailed, the decision stems from the $1.05 billion verdict Apple won against Samsung last year. Following that decision, the iPhone maker moved for a permanent ban on a number of older Samsung phones said to infringe on Apple patents.

U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh had denied Apple’s request for a ban. Apple had appealed her decision and asked that the issue be moved before the full appeals court. Instead, the case will be heard before a three-judge panel, which will then consider the appeal, and decide whether to pass it on to a full court.

Late last month, the same appeals court rejected an Apple bid for an appeal regarding the rejection of a sales ban of Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus handset.
