Algoriddim Releases Djay 2 – A Simple, Intuitive, and Powerful New DJ App for iOS

Algoriddim Releases Djay 2 – A Simple, Intuitive, and Powerful New DJ App for iOS

Algoriddim’s djay app for iOS has long been among the most popular music mixing apps on the App Store – and has proven its merit both with impressive sales, overwhelmingly positive reviews, and even an Apple Design Award in 2011. Today, djay just got even better with the release of  djay 2 – an all new version of the app with loads of new features, a great new interface, enhanced support for audio and DJ hardware, and more.

While the full list of new features is quite impressive (and a bit overwhelming), the most notable new features include real-time visual feedback based on the audio you’re working with, the ability to map and place custom loops (including loops created from a currently playing track in real time), a built-in 12-pad sampler, complete with a recorder, vastly improved syncing between multiple audio tracks, and much, much, much more.

It’s an impressive release – I was given a 30 minute demo, and was frankly stunned by the huge number of changes, new features, and improvements introduced with djay 2.0. Even better, you don’t have to know ANYTHING about DJing, working with sound bytes, or professional audio to have fun mixing your own grooves. It’s brilliantly simple, yet advanced enough to meet the needs of even the most demanding jockey.

If you loved the original djay, or even if you haven’t tried it yet, you’re going to love djay 2 even more. The app is available now at sale pricing for the launch at a cost of $0.99 for the iPhone version, and $4.99 for djay for iPad. Owners of the original djay will have to pay to upgrade to djay 2 – but considering the remarkable amount of work that went into the update, I’m inclined to think it’s well worth the money.

The app is available now for immediate download from the App Store.
