Apple Begins Seeding Internal Nightly Builds of OS X Mavericks Successor ‘Syrah’

As we receive word that the Golden Master of OSX Mavericks is now available to developers via the OS X Software Update tool (via the Mac App Store),  reports now tell us that the next version of OS X 10.10, code named “Syrah,” is being seeded via nightly builds to Apple employees.

Last week, we reported that Apple has begun development of the successor to the upcoming OS X Mavericks: OS X 10.10. We reported hearing that the future operating system is internally dubbed “Syrah” (a type of wine), and now we have received evidence of the codename.

As the screenshot above shows, ‘Syrah’, an operating system newer than both Mavericks and the recently released PS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5, is available internally for Apple employees to install.

As OS X Mavericks moved to Golden Master, Apple has reportedly moved a portion of its Mac software engineering team over to 10.10. Other members of the team are reported to be working on updates to the OS X 10.9 Mavericks track.
