Google Debuts Google Play Movies and TV App for iOS – Chromecast Users Rejoice

Google has released the Google Play Movies & TV app for iOS. The app will allow iPad and iPhone users to watch the TV shows and movies they have purchased via Google Play. The app will also allow users to stream said movies and TV shows to their Chromecast device.

From the Google Play Movies & TV App Store page:

Watch your favorite movies and shows instantly on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from wherever you are. Buy or rent movies by visiting Google Play Store on any computer and watch them from any device over Wi-Fi using the Google Play Movies & TV app.

The biggest drawback so far for iOS users who have purchased a Chromecast device is the limited amount of content and apps that will stream to the device. At first, iOS users were limited to content from Netflix and YouTube, both which support the Chromecast in their iOS apps. Other apps, such as HBO GO, and Hulu Plus have added Chromecast support, but the number of iOS apps supporting Chromecast remains limited.

The Google Play Movies & TV app is available FREE for the iPad and iPhone in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]

The Google Chromecast device is available for $35, and can be purchased from the Google Play store. It is also available at Amazon.com and Best Buy for the same price.
