Apple/Beats Deal 70% Certain – And It’s a Talent Grab, Not a Tech Grab

Apple/Beats Deal 70% Certain – And It’s a Talent Grab, Not a Tech Grab

A new report says that while the Apple acquisition of Beats Technology has come close to falling apart multiple times, the deal is still “70% certain” to go through. The report also goes on to say that the deal is a talent grab, not a technology grab.

Iovine-Dre

The main draw for Apple is  Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. “They want Jimmy and they want Dre,” the unnamed source said. “He’s got fashion and culture completely locked up.”

The source went on to say that the $3.2 billion deal to buy Beats “is happening,” but has nearly fallen apart multiple times. While the source could not confirm with all certainty that it was a done deal, they would say that it was “70 percent” certain that an agreement will be reached. The source later said, “the deal hasn’t fallen apart yet.”

Iovine and Dre are expected to take senior positions at Apple when the deal is completed.
