Rumor: Beats’ Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine to Make Appearance at WWDC Keynote

Rumor: Beats’ Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine to Make Appearance at WWDC Keynote

When Apple holds its Keynote to kick off its annual Worldwide Developers Conference on June 2, its possible the company could use the occasion to introduce its two latest additions to its executive ranks: Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre of Beats Electronics.

Iovine-Dre

Bloomberg, citing “people familiar with the Beats acquisition,” says Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are expected to take executive roles at Apple, and the keynote would be an excellent chance for the company to showcase its latest recruits.

Word of Apple’s pending acquisition of Beats Electronics, and the anticipated roles for Beats two head executives first surfaced last week. It is believed that Iovine will take an active role in Apple’s music strategy, and may oversee the company’s relationships with labels and publishers.

While Dr. Dre’s executive role at Apple hasn’t been revealed, the deal between Apple and Beats is expected to be announced later this week.
