Philips has tweeted an image showing off what the Philips Hue app for its iOS-controlled line of lights could look like once its integrated into iOS 8’s Notification Center.

As seen in the image, adding a Hue widget to the Notification Center would potentially give users direct access to an off switch and a selection of light scenes.
Philips Hue lineup of LED lights – which includes various bulbs and accent lights – is controlled via the Hue app, and numerous third-party apps. Having the Hue controls available in iOS 8’s Notification Center would male it simpler for users to control the lights, without going through the extra steps of launching the Hue app.
iOS 8 – available this fall – will allow third-party apps to create widgets for displaying information in the Notifications Center’s Today view.
Now that will come in handy!
