Samsung Will Let You Test Drive Their Latest Phones for Just One Dollar

Samsung is either so incredibly confident users will like their new phones, or they’re just so desperate to boost sagging phone sales that they’ll try anything, as the South Korean handset maker will now let you try their latest devices – the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ – for 30 days, for just a dollar.

For just one dollar, you can try one of our latest Samsung phones for 30 days with no obligation. Your test drive kit will come with the phone of your choice, an activated sim card, and a step-by-step guide to help you start your test drive.

Samsung’s new Ultimate Test Drive program is designed to lure iPhone users into the Samsung fold. To signup, users will need to visit SamsungPromotions.com on their phone, and select it from a list.

T-Mobile launched a similar trial program last year in an effort to lure iPhone users to the magenta network, allowing them to test the T-Mobile network with an iPhone 5s for one week. T-Mobile placed a $699.99 hold on a user’s credit card, so they could charge it if the phone wasn’t returned at the end of the one week period. It isn’t clear at the moment if Samsung will place a similar hold on user’s cards, but it is likely.

Samsung has seen sliding profits for its mobile division in recent quarters, as a number of customers have been lured away by Apple’s large screened iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets. Now that Apple handsets have larger screens, Samsung is looking for new ways to set itself apart from other smartphones. The Ultimate Test Drive promotion is just one part of that effort.
