How To Quick Tip: Peeking at a Bookmark in Safari Using 3D Touch

Apple’s 3D Touch feature, exclusive to their flagship iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus handsets is still new enough that we’re still learning what all we can do to take advantage of it. Here’s a quick tip we found the other day, that shows how to take a quick peek at a bookmark in Safari.

Peek at a Safari Bookmark Without Opening It

While in Safari, tap the Bookmarks icon at the bottom of the screen. it looks like an open book. The Bookmarks screen will open. You’ll see that you have three tabs you can view on this screen, Bookmarks, Reading List, and Shared Links. We want to view what’s on the Bookmarks tab. That’s the tab in the top left, also marked with an icon of an open book. Tap that icon if it isn’t already highlighted.

You’ll now see your Bookmarks list displayed on screen. To peek at any particular bookmark, simply press on it with your finger and hold with a little additional pressure. A window will appear, allowing you to peek at the contents of that bookmarked webpage. Press a bit harder, and you’ll load that webpage in your browser. Or, just lift your finger, and return to the bookmark list.
