The announcement, via Twitter, said Apple has now paid out over $50 billion to developers since it launched for the iPhone back in 2008. App Store revenue continues to grow rapidly, much of that increase is due to Apple’s steadily increasing services category.
.@AppStore developers have now earned over $50 billion! Congratulations on your success and such inspired creativity.

During last month’s earnings call, Cook shared that Apple had experienced the highest quarterly App Store revenue in its history, seeing a 27% year-over-year growth rate. Apple has also set a new record for customers making purchases via the online store, as the company saw the average amount spent per customer hit its highest level ever.
Cook also said that the next 12 months will see revenue from Apple’s services category, (the App Store, iTunes Store, AppleCare, and iCloud), reach the ” size of a Fortune 100 company.”
July saw a fantastic month for the App Store, as Pokémon Go launched in the U.S. and number of other countries throughout the month. The game, which has been downloaded an estimated 100 million times, is said to bring in $10 million in daily revenue in the iOS and Google Play app stores.
