Twitter has announced it is testing a new feature for Android and iOS users that allows them to receive notifications when there’s a new reply to a Tweet they’re interested in.
Currently, the service’s mobile app can alert you to tweets from a specific account. The new feature being tested allows for an extra level of control by notifying users only of a specific tweet.
You probably have notifications on for your must-follows. Now you can get notifications when there’s a new reply to a Tweet you’re interested in! We’re testing this on iOS and Android now. pic.twitter.com/MabdFoItxc

The new option should make it easier to follow a conversation related to a specific tweet, which can currently be difficult to do if you’re not following the original poster.
Twitter on a regular basis trials or rolls out new features on their short message-based social media platform. The social network says it is trialing such new features as part of an effort to offer more control to users and to cut down on abuse and harassment.
