Apple to Hold November 10 Event Where First Apple Silicon Macs Expected to Debut

Apple today announced a third fall 2020 event, set to be held on Tuesday, November 10 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time from the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. The event will be a digital-only streaming event, and will likely include pre-recorded segments for each new product announced.

The November event is expected to be a Mac-centric event, where the unveiling of the first Apple Silicon-powered Mac will take place.

No one knows for sure what Mac model will be the first to be granted Apple Silicon, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said it will be a notebook model. Other rumors have suggested the new Mac will be anything from a new 13-inch MacBook Pro to a new MacBook Air, to a revived 12-inch MacBook.

Rumors also suggest the A14X chip will power the first Apple Silicon-based Mac. The new processors are said to have 12 cores, with eight high-performance cores and at least four energy-efficient cores. Apple is also said to be exploring offering Mac processors with more than 12 cores farther in the future.

While the event is expected to focus on the new ARM-based Apple Silicon Macs, other products could also be announced at the virtual shindig.

Apple is said to be developing “AirPods Studio,” high-end over-ear headphones that will be a part of the AirPods family. Rumors suggest the AirPods Studio will cost $349 and will offer Active Noise Cancellation and a retro-style design.

Also rumored to be ready for a debut are Apple’s long-rumored “AirTags” Bluetooth trackers, which can attach to items like wallets and keys, allow users to track them in the “Find My” app.
