U.S. Price of Disney+ Streaming Service Rises to $7.99 on Friday

This coming Friday, March 26, Disney+ subscribers will see the price of their monthly subscription jump a buck, from the $6.99 USD they currently pay to $7.99 per month.

The Disney+ bundle, which offers three Disney-owned properties (Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ will be increasing in price from $12.99 to $13.99 per month for the ad-supported version, while the “ad-free” version will jump from $18.99 to $19.99 per month. The extra buck seems to be all Disney+, as the other two streaming services are apparently not increasing in price.

If you want to lock in the lower price for a year, you can sign up for an annual subscription before March 26. The yearly Disney+ solo tariff will increase from$69.99 to $79.99.

Disney warned Disney+ subscribers back in December that a price increase was on its way. That hasn’t slowed down the streaming service’s growth, however, as in March, Disney+ surpassed the 100 million subscriber mark.

The Mickey Mouse outfit now expects its streaming service to hit 230 to 260 million subscribers worldwide by 2024, which would surpass Netflix’s current subscriber numbers. As of January, Netflix had more than 200 million subscribers worldwide.
