Ever-Increasing Number of iTunes Match Users Facing Music Upload Issues

A large and growing number of iTunes Match users are reporting their frustrations in using the iCloud-based service that allows music uploading from CDs and other sources over the last few weeks.

iTunes Match allows users to upload songs and make them available across all of their devices. The service, a part of an Apple Music subscription, only uploads songs to users’ cloud if it’s unavailable to find that same song within the iTunes library. iTunes Match is also available separately from ‌Apple Music‌ for $24.99 a year.

An increasing number of users have taken to the Apple Support Forums, Twitter, and Reddit to note that the service has essentially stopped working. The users report that iTunes Match gets stuck in a constant loop of “Matching your music with songs in the iTunes Store” or uploading content. Twitter users have created an “iTunesMatchBroken” hashtag.

Apple has so far been quiet about the issue, leading to increased frustration among users. The Apple Support account on Twitter has only responded to some user reports with vague responses and prompts to send the support team a message. Some users have been told that there is no ongoing issue with the service, and instead, the device lays with their device.
