Bloomberg’s Gurman: Apple Likely to Debut New Mac Studio at WWDC 2023

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says Apple is readying the introduction of what he believes to be a refreshed Mac Studio model, indicating that the new Mac Studio could be unveiled at WWDC 2023 next week.

On Twitter, Gurman tweeted that the new Mac in question is codenamed “J475.” The current ‌Mac Studio‌ is codenamed “J375,” suggesting that the new Mac model is a next-generation ‌Mac Studio‌ model.

Gurman reported earlier this week that Apple is testing two desktop Macs powered by M2 Max and ‌‌M2‌‌ Ultra chips.

Gurman says the ‌M2‌ Max Mac in testing features eight high-performance cores, four efficiency cores, a 30-core GPU, and 96GB RAM. Those specs match the chip powering the ‌M2‌ Max version of the 16-inch MacBook Pro.

The ‌M2‌ Ultra Mac reportedly boasts 16 high-performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, and a 60-core GPU. Memory configurations include 64GB, 128GB, and 192GB of RAM.

Gurman says that he expects multiple Macs to be introduced at the event, including an all-new 15-inch MacBook Air model. Gurman did not outright say that the new ‌Mac Studio‌ will be unveiled at WWDC, but quite a few indicators seem to point in that direction.
