Passkeys Support for X Rolls Out to iPhone Users Worldwide

Passkeys Support for X Rolls Out to iPhone Users Worldwide

X – the social network formerly known as Twitter – has announced that it has rolled out support for passkeys as a login option for iPhone users across the globe.

X had earlier this year rolled out passkeys support, but the option was limited to iOS users based in the United States. Now the feature will be available to all X users.

Passkeys offer a more convenient and more secure login experience than passwords, as they allow users to log in to apps and websites the same way they unlock their devices, using Face ID and Touch ID or with a device passcode. Passkeys are more secure, as they are more resistant to phishing attacks and similar threats than other login methods.

Passkeys functionality has been available on the iPhone since iOS 16 and on the iPad since iPadOS 16.1, and on the Mac since macOS Ventura.

It’s easy to set up passkeys in X on ‌iPhone‌. Just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the X app.
  2. Click Your account in the navigation bar.
  3. Select “Settings and privacy,” then click “Security and account access,” then “Security.”
  4. Under “Additional password protection,” click “Passkey.”
  5. Enter your password when prompted.
  6. Select “Add a passkey” and follow the prompts.
