iPhone Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo: iPhone 17 Won’t Have a Smaller Dynamic Island After All

iPhone Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo: iPhone 17 Won’t Have a Smaller Dynamic Island After All

Despite several reports that the iPhone 17 will sport a smaller Dynamic Island, it seems that change may not happen after all. Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today said that the size of the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 17 lineup will be “largely unchanged” from the iPhone 16 models.

Technology analyst Jeff Pu has said several times that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a “much narrowed Dynamic Island” thanks to a new “metalens” technology.

However, Kuo says that’s not going to happen. In a brief post on social media today, Kuo says: “I expect the Dynamic Island size to remain largely unchanged across the 2H25 iPhone 17 series.”

Kuo doesn’t go into any detail on his claim, and the phrase “largely unchanged” could imply that the iPhone 17 Pro Max, or other iPhone 17 models, might feature a slightly smaller Dynamic Island, but it might not be as big of a change as the rumors had suggested.

Apple first debuted the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models in 2022. The feature continues to be available across all iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models

Apple is expected to debut the iPhone 17 lineup this September.
